Like most of us in midlife, Lorraine's weight has gone up and down over the years with yo yo dieting. In her new book just released she talks about finding a healthy eating plan combined with a simple exercise regime and being comfortable with the shape and size she is meant to be.
She talks about fashion and how she has evolved into her own style in her fifties, having a great hair cut and using make up to her advantage, giving us tips on 'how to'.
Lorraine Kelly: 'Over the years, as many of you will know, I have committed some truly terrible crimes against fashion and, looking back, some of my hairstyles have been quite hideous.
But I have learned from my mistakes, and look better today that I did in the 80's simply by dressing in clothes that suit me, having a great haircut and using makeup to my advantage.
This book is all about looking good and feeling great. I want to share with you the expert advice and information that I have received over the years and use what I have learned to help you feel happier, healthier and more confident... ' Extract from Looking Great.
The book is divided into four main sections: Health Eating, Excercise, Looking Great and Staying Healthy.
Lorraine says 'I always made the excuse that I didn't have the time to exercise - until my husband pointed out that I managed to find the time to watch my favourite soap four or five times a week'. She now manages to fit in half an hour of exercise almost every day and she certainly does look great on it.
